Crédit Agricole's Growth Strategy: Building a Unified European Banking Platform
With over 2 trillion assets and 35 billion in revenue, Crédit Agricole is one of the largest and most systemically important banking groups in Europe (Top 3) and globally (Top 10), through diversified activities spanning retail banking, asset management, insurance, and corporate & investment banking.
Crédit Agricole Personal Finance Mobility business is one of the paneuropean leaders in consumer loans, with strong domestic positions in 22 countries - on the back of which the Group ambitions to expand its retail banking position through savings and universal banking products.
Crédit Agricole published in November 2025 its 2028 medium-term strategic plan. With three pillars: Acceleration, Transformation and Cohesions, this plan lays the foundations for the Group’s ambitions for tomorrow, aiming at accelerating its international diversification (targeting 60% of revenue internationally by 2028) with a key focus on paneuropean expansion.
Alongside the amplification of the Group’s momentum in Italy and the roll out of its universal banking model to other countries starting in Germany with CA Deutschland, the creation of a pan European digital savings platform is at the cornerstone of this plan.
Key Challenges: Building a Scalable Digital Savings Platform in Record Time
Crédit Agricole PFM needed to design and launch a greenfield savings offer in record time while being ready to scale across multiple European countries with the objective to achieve €40 Bn deposit outstanding in 2028.
One Point and Skaleet next-gen core banking have been selected following a thorough selection process including integration and core banking vendors leaders.

The comprehensive launch offering is one of the largest on the market and includes seven localized products, ranging from flexible overnight deposit solutions to long-term fixed-term deposits including for instance different flavours of “Tagesgeld” or “Festgeld” products. The launch and further expansion of “Crédit Agricole Savings” underscore the Group's ongoing commitment to Germany, on the back of 70 years market presence and 2,000 employees already dedicated to serving private clients, enterprises and institutions.
“Crédit Agricole Savings” is a platform developed to the highest market standards and offers:
a fully digital and secure onboarding process

and expert customer support by phone in German.
By the end of 2026, the platform will be launched in three additional European countries. The range of savings and investment solutions will also be further expanded during the first quarter of 2027.
“We are very proud to be the backbone that underpins one of the most important initiatives of Crédit Agricole’s strategic plan. Modern core banking has emerged as a clear growth enabler, reshaping strategic consideration sets. As domestic banking European markets remained fragmented and closed gardens for too long, Skaleet makes banking technology portable - opening expansion perspectives towards a unified European market.
